Water, silence, reeds

Here, time is measured differently. A walk along the boardwalks, an observatory in the middle of the marshes, the creaking of reeds in the wind: everything invites you to slow down. The Grande Cariçaie is not a park, it's a breath.

Protected biodiversity

Listed as internationally important (Ramsar 1982), the reserve is home to 30% of Switzerland's nesting bird species. Purple herons, bitterns, reed warblers, kingfishers: this is where they make their home, sometimes exclusively.
